Murmura Ladoo

Murmura Ladoo, also known as puffed rice ladoo, is a popular Indian sweet that is easy to make and requires very few ingredients. It is a quick and tasty snack that is perfect for festivals and other special occasions. Here's a simple recipe to make Murmura Ladoo at home.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups puffed rice (murmura)
  • 1 cup jaggery (gud)
  • 2-3 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder (elaichi)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios) (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Heat a large pan over low-medium heat and dry roast the puffed rice for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously to avoid burning. Once roasted, remove from heat and transfer the puffed rice to a large mixing bowl.
  2. In the same pan, add ghee and jaggery. Heat on medium-low heat until the jaggery melts completely, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Once the jaggery has melted, add the cardamom powder and chopped nuts (if using) to the pan. Mix well and remove from heat.
  4. Pour the jaggery mixture over the roasted puffed rice and mix well to combine. Ensure that all the puffed rice is coated with the jaggery mixture.
  5. Let the mixture cool down for a few minutes until it is warm enough to handle.
  6. Grease your palms with ghee and take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small round balls or ladoos using your hands.
  7. Rehash the cycle until all the combination is spent. The ladoos are now ready to serve.

Murmura ladoos can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Enjoy this delicious and healthy snack whenever you want a quick and tasty treat!
