Chocolate Gujiya

Chocolate Gujiya is a delicious Indian sweet made during festivals like Holi and Diwali. Here is a simple recipe to make Chocolate Gujiya at home.



Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup semolina
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup dry fruits (chopped)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the all-purpose flour and semolina. Mix them well and then add ghee. Rub the ghee into the flour until it resembles bread crumbs.
  2. Now add the powdered sugar and mix well. Slowly add milk and knead the dough until it is smooth and pliable.
  3. In the meantime, heat a non-stick pan on low heat and add chocolate chips to it. Stir until the chocolate melts and then turn off the heat.
  4. Add chopped dry fruits to the melted chocolate and mix well.
  5. Cut the disc into circles using a cookie cutter.
  6. Take one circle and place a spoonful of chocolate and dry fruit filling in the center. Brush the edges with water and fold the circle in half to form a semi-circle. Use a fork to press the edges and seal the gujiya.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the gujiyas on medium heat until they are golden brown.

Your delicious chocolate gujiyas are ready to be served! Enjoy them hot or store them in an airtight container for a few days.
